School classes

Rugbykids has a simple aim with the schools programme; to provide a fun, structured and safe environment for children between the ages of 5 & 11 years to learn and develop the fantastic skills and values that the game of Rugby promotes.

Rugbkids schools classes run throughout the UK and are separated in to three age groups;

5-7 Years

These classes are designed to start coaching the basic principles of Rugby with a specific focus on team interaction and technical ability. This is a very important stage in development and the Rugbykids programme mixes fun & games with skills & drills to ensure the children start to grasp the basic skills required in the game. During this class, our Rugbykids will learn to pass the ball whilst running, evade the opposition, look for space on the pitch, play tag and much more.

7-9 Years

These classes have been designed to continue coaching the basic principles with more attention on the reasoning behind the skills your children are learning. It’s important at this age children start to understand the basics such as why they step off one foot or hold the ball in two hands. It’s equally important at this age to continue having lots of fun and our classes will continue to provide a mix of imaginative games with skills sessions to ensure this is the case.

9-11 Years

These classes have been designed to develop important social skills in addition to building rugby related skills. Teamwork and sportsmanship are important rugby values and through a series of team building activities your children will learn to rely on their teammates to complete certain tasks. Rugbykids in this class will learn how to evade tackles, increase speed of footwork, change running speeds and much more. In addition to the skills, our coaches will spend time explaining how rugby players address the referee, their team mates and the opposition in a respectful manner.
